Who uses manual camera control?

I have seen a lot of excitement about the manual controls in the G4 and I love the option but... I wonder if everyone uses "auto" in the "real world" or if the manual camera controls are a big feature your looking forward to actually using?

I certainly use manual settings on my Nokia Lumias. If photographing a steam train, for example, as I sometimes do, I want the shutter speed to be fast enough to freeze the movement. So I set that accordingly and let the ISO setting adjust automatically to compensate. I know that a fast shutter speed is needed....left to itself on auto, the camera couldn't know that; or at least, only with some fancy subject-analysing tech, which so far as I know is not used in phone cameras.
Them's WP devices of course....so I'm very much looking forward to being able to use manual settings on the Android G4.
