So I got my JooJoo in the mail today and as I expected the OS is a piece of junk. But the device itself is sooo sexy.
Just needs Android.

Basic hardware is 1GB ram (1 slot)
2 mini PCIE slots
1 SSD (4gb)
3g sim slot (no card in it, want to put one in it)
Nvidia ION
Atom n270
Bluetooth
WiFi
Camera

I just got that info from a short that hackaday had on it. It's pretty easy to open which I'll be doing tonight and getting all the specifics on the hardware with serials and such. It opens pretty easy with just a few screws along the sides and I'll order a duplicate ssd for it to work with in case things go horribly wrong.

I'm a fairly competent Linux user and I've loved my G1 and my new XT701 (oh it's pretty but needs a keyboard) so I now i'll love this thing when I get android running on it and I bought it knowing that I was going to risk bricking it. But I've never actually built/compiled linux for an embedded device like this.
Anyone up for helping coach me through so that I don't hose up to fast? If we keep it all here in the thread I'll make a nice summation of everything once it's solid(ish)

That just sounds so so dirty...

But yeah, I can't offer help with that project but I am really excited to see what the outcome is. Keep us updated.

haha ya it felt a little like I violated it just now. But it needed it. So much potential in this device but the OS is just awful.

btw I have all of the parts/serial numbers. Just finished putting it back together. I got the
Processor, RAM, Camera, USB, Network and some other misc serials. Anyone think I may have missed anything?

Motherboard has LPC80H on it. Not sure what this is

On motherboard there is a chip near sound ports with ALC289 on it. Guessing this is sound

I'm ordering a 16GB PCI-E SSD for the final product as well as some more ram. Not sure how high this thing will support so may just try for 4GB stick or a 2GB stick.

Can anyone help track down a the network card and what kind of chipset it has? I'm not very good at taking a serial number and finding the manufacturer.

Also with that mini sata/pci-e slot (looks just like the mini sata slots) do you think I could get a 2.5" laptop drive to run for my testing purposes?

One more question. Anyone know if pulling this SSD will make it lose it's data? Is it DRAM based?

I have the same tablet, and looking to do the same with it. jack it up and put backtrack on it for a os. but I'm wondering where you got your parts
