if you are buying an evo, are you in a 4G area?

I am in Houston and we have it. So yes this will be used everyday that I'm at work and probably at home also, but I am not giving up my broadband connections. I am a bandwidth hog.

Since I live in a town that jumped from 1x to 4G all the while paying 3G prices for the years we didn't have it, you can bet your last dollar I will be using 4G to the fullest.

Glad I'm in TX, every major city and lots of smaller cities have 4G/Clear. I feel bad for those 4G-less people who still have to pay the $10 though. I drive a lot from San Antonio to Austin and most of the I35 corridor has 4G. I'm hoping I'll get my $10 worth.

I also spend time in Austin, Dallas, SA and Houston. All have 4G and I can't wait to get this phone.

If you live in a city listed to get WiMAX this year, the chances are very very high at least a portion of the metro will be up an running when EVO is out. In the cities that have been already launched, it was up and running in parts of the metro 6+ months before 'officially' announced.

In KC, it's supposed to be officially announced this summer but there are already several parts of town already functioning using an Overdrive.

I get that all of you are saying that its to remove the 5GB cap, BUT, where I live I am on 1xRTT all day every day unless I go to phoenix... so there is NO WAY I could ever get even close to 5GB. the hero on our other line is able to use just as much data as my evo is going to.... of course if I started to do the video chat on the evo all the time I might use alot, but will the video chat even work on 3G? if not, another "hint" that the charge is really for 4g.

I mean it was EASILY possible to use over 5GB on 3G before this phone, 22 minutes a day at 1Mbps and youre there...

so really, why cant I choose if I want my cap lifted or not? I will NEVER hit it, on 1xRTT Id have to have a steady download for 3:42 every day...

NYC is NYC, if they were only doing Manhattan they would say so. They will be doing all five boroughs but i'm not sure about the different county's and suburbs.

Here in Hawaii its always been good for Sprint and the 4g is on Oahu and Maui.

I'm still not sure about coverage in my GF's work building. It's pretty bad currently, but I've never been sure it isn't our ancient phones. Anyway yeah, the 4G coverage looks solid on Oahu from Sprint's map.
