AC Question

Hello community
(Sorry about my English, this is a second language to me.)

I'm a Software Architect by profession and a geek, so I like to check out new games and see how they work.

I've been playing a game for a while, a very popular one, called 'Gods and Glory'
basicly its a strategy game, you build a city and attack players around you, as the game develops it takes longer and longer to upgrade your base, even months.

luckily you can purchase 'crystals' in this game for real Money, and use them to speed your upgrades and get ahead.
'Pay to win' I believe gamers call this principle. And while I dont enjoy that, there is nothing illegal about it.

Now as a part of this game, every single day you get a few golden coins.
Golden coins are used in a random lottery, where you flip a Card and maybe by chance you win the big prize of 10.000 crystals that represents a value close to 15 dollars.

Now the way you win the big prize is this
1: You spend gold coins to try and hit a golden horse shoe, when you run out(after two cards), you can spend crystals instead (the ones you buy for real money)
2: If you find the golden horse shoe the cards are shuffled Again, and you start over.
3: Third time you find the golden horse shoe, you win the big prize.

Its worth noting that everytime you miss the horseshoe the prize to flip a Card increases.

So I’ve won the super prize 18 times.
Meaning I've found the golden horse shoe 18x3 times

On those 18 times I never had to pass card no. 7 in the first round to find the golden horseshoe.
However 17 times out of those 18 times, I had to flip every single card in the third round to find the golden horseshoe, making the ’journey’ more expensive than the actual prize.

It took me 3 runs to find out that something was wrong, the next many I did to collect data.

I wrote a case to the creators of the game, saying that I know the fortune cards weren’t right, in fact most regular players know, as I've asked around in the game community.
the game creators response promised me it was 100% random.
I then presented them with the data, 17 times of having to go to last Card out of 18 attempts, is statistically, well... not very likely.

They changed their answer

quote:
”Of course, each "random" is mathematical. Usually it based on the possibility theory, and the formulas and % there are quite complex to reveal them”

Now this is just one of many game mechanics in this game that is rigged.

I know most of you won’t care, and the response will be ’stop playing the game’
So why do I write this?

Because I think its unfair, I don’t think its right. I dont think anyone should be presented with a game that is supposedly random, just to be tricked.
Its missleading and they should be forced to change it.
Kids spend hard earned Money to get scammed in this game.

So if any of you out there, have the same opinion about what is right and wrong.
Could you help me understand how I should proceed with this?

My goal is to force them into changing the game mechanics, or at least advertise to everyone that 'random' is not 'random.
