Hope I'm not the first...and hope it's not a major issue.

I received a replacement phone, immediately rooted and on my way to remove the bloatware. My thinking was prior to removing all the bloatware, first go to my sdcard and remove my old bloatware folder from my first phone and start fresh. It appears when I removed the OLD bloatware folder...it removed all the bloatware on the phone completely. Not sure how that happens, but is that a problem? I know Cory's original post on removing apps said NOT to remove the bloatware completely, as it may cause problems down the road. So...have I really messed myself up? Should I unroot and root again. (ugh! I hate the thought of starting all over again!)

Unless you really need the bloatware for something, that isn't an issue. Nothing bad should happen to your phone unless you deleted some critical system file, which is impossible on an SD card. If you want to get your bloatware back, download and flash the stock rom from here:http://www711.megaupload.com/files/72ac0dfeff4f70b9a6a1002269358c04/PG05IMG.zip
which will bring your phone back to factory defaults no matter what rom you're using, and have your bloatware restored. BTW: Even if you do this you will still be rooted. :)

That's really only an issue if you want to do an OTA update in which case, you can just flash a stock ruu and upgrade from there.

...and trust me, you don't want to do an OTA.

If fact, I'd recommend ROM-ing now, and ensure yourself that you don't get stuck with the next OTA.

my 2?

Thanks for the good news. It's reassuring to some degree. So just flash to the stock rom, get the bloatware back, then flash back to my current ROM. I assume I still have to data/cache wipe in both instances...which is a drag to start that process all over. But better safe than sorry, I guess.

Thanks again.
