Who's getting a next-gen Nexus 7?

My nexus 7 needed a reset due to showing down, after this phone.. I want a galaxy 10 inch tab or galaxy note tab.

I like my Nexus 7 and don't need anything more. When my Nexus 7 doesn't hold a good charge is when I will upgrade.

Give me some details as to why the Nexus 7 is better. I wasn't too but one or the other soon.

I suppose it depends on how you plan on using it, but the Nexus 7 is just plain easier to handle. It's easier to carry and hold. If you're the type to want to surf while lying in bed or on the couch, it's easier to handle because of the size and shape; you can hold it with one or two hands and still use it. Using the Chromebook while lying in bed or on the couch means you have to hold a laptop in the air or make sure you are in a position that you can set the keyboard down on your chest or you have to set it down on the bed or couch and lie down next to it to use it. Plus, far more apps are available for the Nexus 7 because its OS is Android rather than Chrome.

I do love my Chromebook, especially the battery life (though I believe battery life isn't as good for the latest Chromebooks), but again, the only way that I see it trumping the Nexus 7 is if you need something for creating and editing documents or if you need something for internet use that will require a screen and separate physical keyboard. It's basically a laptop browser.

Thanks for the info. I like the fact that the Chromebook has a bigger screen and can be used as a laptop. The Nexus 7 is something that I feel will be familiar because I have a Nexus 4. But I'm not sure if it would be redundant because it isn't that much bigger than my Nexus. But I do like the idea of having a tablet with Swype capability. It was the biggest gripe I had with my iPad. As far as apps, I wouldn't need as many as I have in my Nexus 4 which isn't many anyway. They are two great devices I'm sure, just not sure which one to get. I have played with both in stores as well.

I liked the idea of Swype on a tablet, but in actuality it's not that great. I find it easier to tap with the standard Google or AOSP keyboard, both of which have gesture typing anyway even if it's not as good as Swype.

I actually haven't found there to be too much redundancy between my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7. If I'm at home, I much prefer to use my Nexus 7 rather than my Galaxy Nexus. The Nexus 7 is better for reading and surfing due to screen size in my opinion, especially with apps like Pocket (the 7-inch versus 4.7-inch screen size is bigger than it might sound). Also playing games. Plus, using the Nexus 7 means I don't have to kill the battery on my Galaxy Nexus.

I suppose what it really comes down to is whether you really need a browser in the form of a laptop--and remember that there is very little you can do with the Chromebook without a wifi connection.

When I travel, I bring both.

I'm happy with the current Nexus 7, but I'm definitely interested in the new model. I have zero interest in Apple products, so I can't see myself using an iPad.

I have the N4 and the N7 and I love my N7. There is some redundancy and I can tell a difference in performance (which is why I am going to upgrade), but I always pick up my N7 before my N4. Apps are so much better with the bigger screen (reddit, facebook, g+, etc).

If you plan on creating content like in google drive or something, a netbook is WAY better than a tablet. I always tell people that tablets are better for consuming content while netbooks/computers are better for creating content. It all depends on what you want to do.

I bought nexus 7 yesterday after my galaxy tab died :'( , so far i started to love this device :D , anyone have tips for me ?

And i am asking if any one use Ubuntu touch on nexus 7 ??????????

I also like the fact that I will get 100GB of cloud storage for two years with the Chromebook.
