Who's Going To Pre-order The Note 8

8+ has similar size display and bigger battery. Not seeing a compelling reason to jump. Loved me some Note 4 and 7 though, but rarely used the pen.

I mainly got the Notes for the bigger display. 8+ covers that.

You haven't seen the final product yet tho. I'd wait til Samsung officially announces the note 8. But that's my opinion tho:*)

Right. The Note line has become more about under the hood software tweaks that can't be leaked until someone actually gets time with one. I for one, love seeing new Notes in action beyond what folks think they know.

unless it's missing something I really need like the micro sd card slot, I'm in.

Same. My carrier S7 Edge is getting swapped.

If the rumors of Orchid Grey and a new blue (not Coral) as initial color options hold, I just might pre-order.

Somehow I believe Samsung is gonna deal this incredibly like the S8s have been in recent months...

Yes. Lol ugh but the wait is agonizing. But if it better than note7(minus the issue it had) then it be worth the wait. Lol can't wait to read the topics when note 8 is finally revealed😁

Yeah I love the blue coral one I had on the note7. The coral part didn't bother me as much but still wasn't my favorite. But the blue made up for it. But I so hope Samsung releases a blue option for the note 8.

Not to be provocative but what are these under the hood tweeks of which you speak. There is the S pen software which I personally think has stopped evolving. The camera might have some improvements. But I'm curious what's there is that's not included in the S8+. Not trying to start a fight but I've been disappointed since the Note 5.

Postscript: I can think of alot of software on the Note they have crippled starting with the S Finder and Do Not Disturb.

What was disappointing about he Note 5? I have no issue with it.

I have no issues either. There are little things but it's still workng since launch day when I bought it. The Note 8 well be a huge improvement.

Don't want to start a fight about the Note 5. It's a wonderful phone and I use it every night to browse the internet and such.

I have certain complaints which I've voiced before so that I sound like a broken record: No MHL, sealed battery, flimsy stylus, non-evolving S pen software, etc.

I view the Note 5 as the beginning of Samsung turning away from a Workhorse phone.

But, again, that's me. It's still a tremendous phone.

I actually prefer mirroring my phone then an HML cable. I can keep my phone next to me instead of getting up to go to my phone.

After having two Note 7s for the short time we had them, I got used to the much better battery life and couldn't go back to my Note 5. I tried and tried - just couldn't deal with it. Ended up getting an S7 Active (4000 mAh) to carry me over to the Note 8... much better (just not a Note)!

This is my debate right now too...

The Note 7 was my first Android device, and I was absolutely loving it until they made us give them back.
I had to settle for the S7E, and while it's doing what it's supposed to do as a S7E, i can't help but still feel a little disappointed because it's not the original device I wanted.

I am hoping to be able to grab a Note8, but there are a few things that make me a little apprehensive about being a super early adopter/pre-ordering it...

Yes, the Battery is one issue. Smaller could be an issue, stability (even with the new 8 point inspection) could be an issue, especially since a part of me wants to have it when I go away on my honeymoon in October, but another part of me doesn't want to get caught with a device that could pose a threat, considering how severe the issue was for the Note7.

But then again, the price could also be an issue for me as well. The entire Note 7 ordeal with Best Buy is still giving me issues because Best Buy/Citi Bank screwed things up and I am still dealing with trying to get it fixed. So I don't know if I want to plop that price onto my BB card, especially if I just opt for another carrier/AT&T branded device.

I will admit the rumors of the potential wireless earbuds of shipping with the device is enticing, but of course we have to wait until launch day to see if they even exist. If they are included with the Note at release day, then I could say the price might be justifiable... depending on the actual retail price.

I still miss my Note7. If I had that one still, I would probably skip this release of the Note8. Considering what I could do with the Note8, if I have it on my trip in October, then I might pre-order.

that's what I normally do as well, wait a few months and see reviews and maybe hope for a price drop or good deal.
This time however it is a little harder, I am still on the Note 4 as I thought the 5 was more of a downgrade than actual upgrade and the 7 was withdrawn as quick as it was released here so never got my hands on one, only thing that might keep me holding out would be to see the difference in 7 FE and Note 8 and then decide if the Note 8 really warrants the extra money

Me!!! I have not been happy ever since I had to turn in my Note 7. The Note has always been my phone of choice and the S7e just isn't cutting it (decent phone but not a Note). If I hadn't traded my Note 4 in I would have gone back to that. Can't wait!

That's why I stopped trading in phones starting with the Note 4. I give them what appears to be a new phone and they give me a measly credit. And it's amazing the number of uses an old phone has.
