Do you think it will worth jumping from the V40 to V50? I'm hoping this phone does well.

I did not upgrade to the V40 from my V30 due to no increase in base storage.
If the V50 has a 128GB version, I'm in. If not, I see Samsung has finally seen the value of a wide angle camera, maybe the Note 10......
But I have loved my LG V's and would prefer to stay in the V family. We will see.

I'm still on the V20 because the 30 and 40 were too much of a downgrade in available features. It is getting to the point mine may get to be obsolete before long, so I'll see what the 50 has to offer. Whatever phone I move to next may not be so much a "Cool,I want that!" as it it would be holding my nose and picking the least bad one for my tastes.

No, the phone upgrade fund has run dry. I've got my 3 year old V20 as a souvenir of the swappable battery/IR blaster days of old, the Note9 and the V40 as some of the best of 2018. If it hadn't have been for some serious discounts coming my way there would have been no way I could have been able to get those last two. So I hope to be sitting on the side lines for a while happy with my trio of flagships gone by. I'm very happy with what I have now.

Year to year upgrades are marginal at best regardless of brand. In some cases even 2 year upgrades don't buy you much in advancement. I'm on a yearly upgrade schedule and try recoup a little cash by selling the prior model but even that can be hard to justify. When I was young I always dropped a bundle to have the latest gadgets and gizmos. Now I'm trying to take back my youth.

We'll never see another phone with the great features of the V20. I just hope mine continues to hold out. I think the charging port is getting hinky.

I can sell you mine....it's minty and bound to be a collectors item😂

I will probably upgrade from the S10+ to the V50 because (1) I'm on Sprint and they get it first, and (2) the fingerprint sensor on the S10+ is a joke. Same size screen as S10+, probably priced at $1200 or $1250. Probably goodies for pre-orders as in the V30. Sprint Kickstart won't be able to be used on a 5G plan, but I hope it will be able to be used on the V50. My V30 has served me well but it's on Verizon and I'm on Sprint.

@latech2: The V50 will have a 128GB version as a bare minimum, and probably a bigger option. Heck, the V30 even had a 128GB version on Sprint.

@wrt0108 you are correct about Sprint getting the good LG's first (and only).
But where I live their service and coverage is very spotty and poor. So I'm on Verizon.
I'll be waiting......

Still on my V30. The V40 wasnt much an upgrade since my V30 is still running smoothly and its improvements from the V30 were marginal.

If the V50 gets good feedback once its released ill look into it, but ive read a few negative points on it, enough to give me a pause on upgrading. Prob will wait it out for the V60. Should be recognizable changes by then that would make it worth it.

I've done the yearly upgrade from the V20 to the V30 to the V40. I'm thinking I'll sit this one out. The V40 is great and other than the 5G I don't really see the need to spend that kind of money on the V50.

I'm with a so fatally flawed G5 that I feel like a sucker for going back with LG, but they have what I want. There's a reason I've already had 4 or 5 LG phones. It's the music/overall sound aspect that does it for me. The V40 with low storage and small battery were easy for me to pass on. I'm with Sprint and since I heard that T-Mobile doesn't plan to raise rates for 3 years after the Sprint merger, a 5G plan shouldn't cost any more. Our Sprint plan we're grandfathered into and it's craaazy cheap. So yes, I am happy to get the V50. Samsung makes a good phone, but those curved edges make it hard to get protection, and I never go sans protection. :p So slap a Spigen Tough Armor case on the V50 and you're good to go! And yes, I'll be getting it the day it's released, my G5 is on life support and spinning the drain. R.I.P. removable battery.

I mean come on the v40 about months old I think the only person that would be interested in this v50 is someone who has a v 30

I'm amused that you stopped at the 30 and didn't include the 20 as well. Lol

I'm ready to move up ftom my v30. Only thing that will hold me back is a notched screen. If it has one, I'll stay with my V30. It's still fast and has everything I require.

I'm hoping this phone does well too! I've always loved the V-series! Upgrade time will be really rough for me - it'll be either the newest Pixel, Huawei, LG G8 ThinQ or the V50! Maybe I'll just go for what's on sale... 🤣.

I am going to wait to see if there is a good deal on the V50 when it comes out. I can't see spending $900 on a phone.

you can get the lg v50 unless your in a 5g area sprint wont let you order it? be trying all week and it wont let me
