Who's ordering the S25?

Preordered S25U 512 GB in Titanium Jetblack. Used $50 preorder credit to get Galaxy Watch 7 40mm that I plan to sell to get some money back. Total was $447 including tax and employee discount. Should get some x10 points back from Perks at Work. I also used Capital One cashback extension for 20% back, but not sure if it will work, as I never used it before. Rakuten shows just 4% back for me, so I didn't use it this time.
I have yet to receive any email from Samsung regarding the $50 preorder credit. Every year I sign up and I never seem to be able to find or use it unless it was somehow bundled into the deals with taking advantage of 512MB upgrade.

I had additional money to use and just spent it on cases, although, keeping with Samsung tradition, the one I really wanted (Magsafe) was already out of stock.

Ditto.

I pre-ordered during Unpacked and I only received the email for the $50 at 6pm, 5 hours later!

Wasted the $50 :(

Wow they offered you 20%? They only offered me 18%. Guess they keep going up lol, but I haven't had a problem with receiving any offer I've used through CapOne shopping portal. You should be good.

Anything possible

Look at this way
The s24u has everything the s25u has except the new chip.

S24U
Titanium frame
Same battery
Flat screen
Anti-reflective screen
7 years OS updates
Bluetooth Spen

Yeah I'm pretty underwhelmed by the S25U from what I've seen even though pretty much knew it's not much more than the S24U.

... One plus comes out with 6000ma battery, they didn't include magsafe magnets, and they take away like the Bluetooth spen which honestly I never used anyways but the first two definitely ... S26??

So much so I may hold on to my S23U but was hoping to just upgrade to get the highest trade in I can for it or my S22U. The S23U is still such a great phone and still love the white lol.

I do feel sales will be underwhelming too for this phone so there will probably be deals later.

I've been in Chicago all week on work so when I fly back home and my brain thaws I'll see if it's worth it.

Not even a fan of the colors either.

If the camera is important to one's decision:

From the first camera sample comparisons, the S25U has fixed the HDR vs the S24U and even improved upon the S23U. 10x zoom also appears sharper and more detailed than the S24U.

And in the camera comparisons vs the 16 Pro Max, it was holding its own and even doing better in a blow-by-blow comparison. Low-light video was virtually indistinguishable between the two.

And... in what maybe a big deal for many.... according to "Alex Gear & Tech" the sudden motion blur (some call it "shutter lag") in pictures of kids and pets is finally fixed. See this clip for more details:

I have ordered it but I will say this is the most disappointed I've ever felt ordering a Sxx Ultra (notwithstanding the demise of the Note, etc.). Outside of the upgraded processor, it's mostly just software updates and a 50mp wide angle. The loss of the Bluetooth function on the Spen hurts and it was such a major differentiator with the stylus. Between this and the Fold series, I just feel as if Samsung is tone deaf. I don't see this phone selling well. I get it because I am an enthusiast and I'll adapt to it, but I really wonder about this... Maybe once I get it, it will blow my mind so much where I didn't expect...

It is a bit underwhelming this year, and I totally agree on the colors, I don't love any of them. I shouldn't care about color, since my phone lives in an (up until now, got one clear back case this time) opaque case and I only see the phone's color when I clean it or switch cases.

That being said, I love tech, and a new phone scratches that itch. It helped that the trade in for my S24U is nice and sweetened the deal. My husband just rolled his eyes when I told him.

I am debating on upgrading to the S25 from the S23 but did not realize that my S23 is still not paid off so I would have to fork out almost $300 to get the new phone, not sure if it's worth it or if I should wait for next years phone when mine is paid off and it will be "free" month to month.

I'm confused with Verizon because when I went from the S21 to S23 I don't remember having any balance on my phone. Not sure when they started doing the 3 year contracts.

while maybe spec-wise, it seems like only more of certain features.

on the other hand, after each substantial tech enhancement year, there are usually a couple of years during which they refine those tech enhancements so these upgrades mature over the next year or two, then another cycle of more substantial tech enhancements.

at least that's how i felt about the recent past.

these refinements may not sound like much, but they may end up making the experience of a new model feel far more polished.

this is similar to getting a new car. cars are pretty much cars. the minor refinements of having more physical tactile buttons, versus too much dependence on soft on-screen buttons, etc., end up making a new model feel far more user-friendly and polished. of course, ymmv.

I do wish that blue, or "Navy" was the color they had last year. I would have gotten that instead of the marble gray, which is really just "silver". They didn't have any real blue colors. "Cobalt Violet" was just light purple. The "Sapphire Blue" was just bluish tinted silver.

They all pretty much do it now, to get your monthly payment down, and to give the appearance of a more reasonably priced plan.

What really ticks me off is that they are giving you $1k trade towards the new phone, but they credit it to you in little crumbs, so that it takes you 3 years to get that full $1K.

This time, I paid off the S24U, trading in directly to Samsung to get the full value upfront, and ATT can go jump in a lake with their triflin' selves.

Anxious to hear everyone's feedback on the 25U when its received.

I'm bummed that I am going to pass and keep my 24U (not a bad thing). No more square design (this is so iconic Samsung and now its like others), no Bluetooth spen, underwhelming changes...

I believe it's already part of the saving when logging in with the same reservation email to order.

I just ordered, believe me ain't going to be much of an upgrade but for 397.00 I'm fine with it . If you have an s24u keep it but if you get at a great price why not

I hear ya.... I'm able to get it for about 400 as well, and that alone usually makes me jump. I'm just widely underwhelmed by the design and changes. This forum will probably sway me in a couple weeks....LOL!

I think last year I paid 567 or something for s24u , so I said why not this cheaper but no Bluetooth Spen:((

I've never used Rakuten but it's showing 14% back on Samsung mobile phones. Not sure what's typical for them or even how it works.

Is the 14% on the original retail price or whatever you pay, such as ~$400 after trade in credits?
14% is very high, might push me over the edge
