my pet peeve is that voicemails no longer have a blinking LED on the screen.

is there anyway to turn on a setting that will show whenever we get a voicemail waiting for us to have an LED blinking on the front of the phone?

thanks!

I don't want to poop on anyone's parade that's getting it but unless the S24 has some major flaw I haven't read about, this is a side-grade at best.

It's definitely more fluid. The form factor is preference*. The new UI is preference*. The cameras are virtually identical (still inferior in zoom to S23 U's optical lens. Main camera is maybe slightly improved but they tweak that every year. RAM is 12GB except (a) select countie(s?) that get 16GB 😐.
I may or not get one to compliment to compliment my current phone *cough* I'm a @mustang7757 wanna-be 🫡.

I think for many it will be a great upgrade but it's definitely not a (I need to shower for using this word) 'FOMO' level phone. Samsung played it very safe.

^^* it feels a little too much like a iPhone rather than Samsung device.

Oh and for those that don't know, just because the old SPen fits doesn't mean it fits. Ask the people who put the seeminginly compatible S23 U pen and put it in the S24U. Those unlucky enough not able to pry it out ended up with a triple digit repair bill, don't recall exact cost.

TLDR; Set your expectations. I'm just one person but it's my experience playing with it hands on today.

Edit: forum appears to be having a seizure. What's going on with my half-a salute emoji?

The LED went away with the S10 years ago. There should be an icon at the top. A notification on the lock screen, and an icon on the AOD.

Wow they offered you 20%? They only offered me 18%. Guess they keep going up lol, but I haven't had a problem with receiving any offer I've used through CapOne shopping portal. You should be good.
Just received a confirmation from Capital One Shopping cashback app. Got pending $100.71 cashback for my order. That is more than 20% they offered me. I will not complain 😊

I clocked in at $379.99 then get hit by the oHIo sales tax of $83.20
I hate that I have to pay the tax on the trade in , how many times do I have to play that same sales tax.

Still no clue just how much cash back I will get from Rakutan .
Mine ended up at 379.99 also but I was just wanting to see what my price would be with my work discount. But Rakuten I thought said 10% but I checked again last night and saw for phones 4% so I could of looked wrong. Usually when we get phones it's 12 or 15. But I'm still fine with keeping my 24U even though it's a good price and it's for the 512 which is what we have now. But I could do it and sell the free buds pro 3 which I already own and make the price even cheaper. If you RSVP'D do you click on a link from that email or just sign in to your Samsung account? I had the same account for years and now I had to make a different one with my work address and use it cause of my discount.

I earned $56 and some change. I submitted just now to get paid via PayPal.

Before ridiculous taxes, that brings my out of pocket down to $344 - plus the free cases that I didn't really want and pack of their official anti-glare screen protectors, worth about $100.

I'm sticking with my S24U this year so not bothering with the 'upgrade'. It's still a fab phone and is more than capable for my needs. I think this is the first time I've been disappointed with Samsung's new offerings and the colours don't really stand out either for me this year.

I hope you all enjoy your new phones when you receive them.

I pre ordered, but now I'm kinda having regret. I'll figure it out if I want to keep it or not. Mine is in a case 24/7, so shape doesn't matter to me. I however and a little disappointed in the S Pen. Obviously, not enough to not pull the trigger, but I like new shiney things, so probably my issue with why I got it lol

What makes it feel like an iPhone to you? Imo, Apple is nekkit (naked) and One UI has everything AND the kitchen sink.

Physically, the everything flat and what's not flat rounded.

Software, the UI, which inevitably means my S23 U will end up looking like it, has everything so spaced out. I don't want it cluttered and I'm not 'get off my lawn' old that I'm opposed to changes, the quick panel just isn't Samsung-y to me.

The Settings app appears to only look off because I tested it in Light Mode, I exclusively use Dark so that is actually fine after all (you prompted me to revisit and reflect on what I didn't like).

That said, unforseen circumstances have gotten me a S25 Ultra. I'll like switch because I hate the damn curved display of the S23 Ultra but definitely not getting rid of it because the zoom as mentioned is infinitely better. Samsung needs to eat the cost and add a optical 10x back.

I almost had unforseen circumstances yesterday when I dropped my S24U while rebooting the phone. had an ugly green screen with all sorts of Korean language on it. in fact, it popped out of its case slightly, long pressing the volume rocker (I imagine) pulling up that menu. BUT, it rebooted just fine. back in the game. 😂
