Who's using an SD card?

I'm not currently using one, mainly because the one I was using in my S7e I gave to my wife and I'm waiting on the free one to arrive and I'll use that.

I use cloud services over SD storage this way my files and photos are always accessible wherever I am.

Funny. This is the same exact reason I use the SD card in my phone over cloud services. I'm currently using the 256gb card from the Note 7 promo last year.

I use a 256 GB card from the Note 7 promo last year. I store photos and videos, as well as Google Play Music, Movies, YouTube, Netflix, etc. No apps though.

Yes I find it necessary I'm not into cloud storage, and I'm very OCD about how my images are saved. Between documents, videos, images, and music I have about 190gb used.

I prefer my 256 card over cloud. I have photos wallpapers videos screenshots and all my music and ring tones. I backup my card to my PC. As well as I have it backup to my Dropbox.

It's a big deal if your wifi and data service are spotty or limited. I can't stream things on my phone most of the time. My pc has a good wired connection but it doesn't help the phone.

I am using my 256 card (from last years note 7 promotion) ,loaded with digital comics some music and some digital books I have 55 gb left I love having what I need and not worrying about data usage to download, or if i would be in a spotty coverage area.

yep, exactly why I too like to use an SD card for those moment when one is out of range of internet. Internet nor WiFi is not always readily available.

My camera is set to default storage for SD card, that way if the phone never fails I don't lose my pictures
Yes I use Google photos to I like a physical backup

SD card is a must for me. 256GB from my (RIP) N7. I hated not having on in the S6 edge and N5.

I got the promotional 256gb card with the Note7 and another promotional 256gb card when I got the Note8. I don't think it's a necessity for me but having the option to expand the device's memory space is definitely a big reason for using Android/Samsung/Note8.
