Why am I getting an error message on the screen of my S6 Edge?

s6 edge screen stopping

every time i turn on edge screen settings and swipe screen egde to get icons, I get a message saying "unfortunately edge screen has stopped" ive tried restarting phone but still pops up with the message. its very annoying as I have an s6 edge but cant use any of the edge features
