Why am I getting the error message on my camera error: camera cannot connect?

Camera error: camera cannot connect

Both my camera and video recorder come up as a black screen then the camera error message appears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.☺

Go to Settings, Apps, swipe to All, scroll to the Camera app, and select Clear Cache and Clear Data. Power Off and Restart the phone and try again.
If no go, consider the possibility that you have a third-party app on board which is interfering with the normal functioning of Camera.
