Why am I having Chinese writing suddenly show up on my phone

Good morning everyone,

So I recently bought a 42" light bar to install on my truck and it has a Bluetooth feature that you can change the color and other options on the bar from an app on my phone the app is called "BLEDIM" and every since I installed the app I started getting Chinese writing showing up on my screen and on, onscreen icons and such, I tried going into my settings to make sure the language was on English and nothing else and it was. Has anyone ever had this issue and if so any idea how to fix it? I tried uninstalling the app and then restarting my phone. I ran a virus scan on my phone and it found nothing and now I am running out of options. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I also have sceenshots of what I am talking about if anyone would like to see it.

Can you post a screenshot of those messages? It's possible that they are some kind of error messages from that app. I just checked this app on the Play Store and it has very negative reviews.

Oh wow! I thought you were talking about some random Chinese message not such a complete mess. I would uninstall that app for now and see if the problem persists. Just remember, when uninstalling go to settings - apps - select the app - force stop - clear data and only then hit the uninstall button.

Lol that was my exact reaction too when I first saw it pop up trust me. I uninstalled the app but I totally forgot to go in and clear the data and force stop. I have been trying to google it for an answer but I am coming up blank

Very weird, I'm not sure what to suggest. Is this an app that you downloaded from the Play Store or from any other source? There are two different apps with a similar name. I'd recommend you to get in touch with the devs, via email, and see if they know what's going on.

The app is on the play store, but I downloaded it from an email from the company that makes/sells that light bar I bought from a "QR" code they sent me.

I have emailed the devs of the app and of course I still have not gotten a response yet

Sorry for the delay. I've done a little search and found nothing remotely similar. If you don't get any answers from the devs I think a factory reset could be the next thing to try.

I honestly did not try that B.Diddy but I think I found the issue yesterday by doing a little more digging.

I went through every app on my phone through the settings portion of my phone and I found one single app towards the bottom that ended up having chinese writing below it and once I deleted it, the things that were popping up with the writing on it went away. I have absolutely no clue how that app ever even got installed. I am going to post a picture of what the app looked like

Hmm, the Google translation for that is "Application Treasure." Yech. Pretty big app, too -- was using 418 MB of storage! What permissions did it have?

Ugh, that probably came as a "gift" when you downloaded the light bar app from their link. Glad you managed to fix that annoying problem.

Honestly, I have no idea what permissions it had, I do not remember it asking permission for anything but then again I didn't even realize it was there
