Why am I not receiving Instagram notifications?

Other than the first day I installed Instagram, I haven't been receiving any notifications. This is both on the Android app, as well as the website itself. My pictures get likes, comments, and I get followers, but I don't get notified of them anywhere.

All of the relevant settings for being notified on my Android (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) are enabled, but even so, 5hay doesn't explain the website not notifying me.

Any ideas folks?

What website notifications do you mean? Are you talking about Chrome notifications, or are you talking about unread count badges on your Instagram website? (Sorry, I don't use Instagram, so I'm not sure what notifications are usually like on the site.)

I am going to ask the obvious, you do have the push notifications turn on in you app settings, right?

Thank you for the reply! I'm talking about notifications within Instagram itself. Much like Facebook and Twitter, there's a page / area for viewing your notifications (someone has liked your picture, someone has followed you etc), and that's what is remaining empty. The same is true inside the Instagram application.

Cheers for the response; yes, I do have all of the push notification settings enabled, both within the Instagram application as well as in the Android settings.

Try clearing the application cache and see if that helps. You can do so by going into system settings - applications - instagram - clear cache.

Try cleaning cache (and possibly data) and check for the show notifications option to enable them.

Make sure those apps are not "optimized". Check under battery settings
