Why am I receiving duplicate text messages on my Samsung S8?

Starting last night, I have been receiving duplicate text messages from people.

Welcome to the forums! It could have​ something to do with the signal either on your end or on your contacts' end. Does it tend to happen with specific contacts?

Are you using the stock messaging app that came with your phone? If you're using a third-party messaging app like Textra, make sure you've enabled it as your default messaging app. Sometimes, glitches can happen when that type of app is not enabled.

This started happening to me today as well. Called Sprint. They tried some troubleshooting and nothing worked. Then they said it is an issue they are working on and hope to have it resolved within 24 hours. It is very annoying!!
