Why am I receiving group messages individually?

[Android Central Question]

I have a Regular Galaxy S7 and my carrier is AT&T.

When someone sends me a message that's supposed to be in a group text I receive it as an individual text along with all the the replies to that text.

When I go into all of my settings there are no options for group messing or SMS/MMS

How do I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! I assume you're using the stock messaging app, correct? Can you try a different one, like Google Messages or Textra?
