Unable to Make Exdialer Default - GS6 Verizon

Hello!

I'd like to start by thanking whomever reads my words with the intent to help me - you guys rock!

I just purchased the Galaxy S6 from Verizon, and am having issues changing the default dialer and contact apps to Exdialer. I have gone inside the Application Manager -> All section, found both the Contacts and Phone apps to clear the defaults, though the "Clear Defaults" button is grayed out for both.

Outgoing and incoming calls default to the standard Phone app, and any attempts to edit contacts brings me to the standard Contacts app.

I have tried all default app managers I could find, and have even reset the phone to factory defaults. Alas, the problem persists.

It is important to note that I have the same issue with TrueDialer, Dialer+ and Contacts+, though for some reason I have no problem setting True Contacts as the default contact app.

I hope you can help - I can't stand the default dialer and contact apps!

Incoming calls do, and you can't change that. Outgoing calls are made by whichever dialer you run.

You should be able to clear defaults on the Contacts app.

It is important to note that I have the same issue with TrueDialer, Dialer+ and Contacts+, though for some reason I have no problem setting True Contacts as the default contact app.

And if you run TrueDialer and dial a call, that's the app that will make the call - that's the "outgoing default". (There's no "default" for an app you run, only for an app that handles events [like an incoming call] or one that handles files [like opening a pdf file by tapping the pdf file, not the app that you want to use to open it].)
