Why am I unable to transfer data?

I am unable to transfer data from my moto g3 to laptop.Some times device is not connecting to the laptop.If it connects only some data is transferring to laptop.For example if i transfered 180 photos only 100 photos are getting transfered.Can you help out this..

Maybe your USB cable is slight damaged or your USB port of your laptop is worn out and a slight loose.
