Unable to turn on phone Sony Xperia Z3 compact

Hi everyone.

My Z3 Compact shut down a couple of times today and at the third time, I am unable to turn on the phone ever since. Battery life is about 30% and should have no problems restarting. I tried charging the phone but to no avail and still unable to turn on the phone, even while charging. Tried removing the sim and memory card but still the same.

Unusual symptoms before this happened are:
1) Phone "hang" thrice.....unable to access phone but phone screen is still turned on
2) Auto shutdown after phone "hang" for about 10 seconds
3) Notice there phone was auto-updated earlier in the day

The phone is about 6 months old.

Need help badly. Thank you.

Re: Unable to turn on phone Sony Xperia Z3 compact

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your problem. Under the sim card cover there is a tiny yellow button next to the sim card, use a pin or something similar to hold it down for 15 seconds (don't push too hard because it's fragile). This will reset the phone but also reset the files that aren't replaced when the phone is factory reset using the normal method, this is the best way to fix a non starting z3 compact. If the notification light doesn't come on when charging then try charging it through micro usb and the dock connector.
Another good fix is to download the "Sony PC Companion", when you open it connect your phone to the computer and go to the support zone, from there click start below 'phone/tablet software update' then on the small window that pops up click 'repair my phone/tablet'.
I hope I helped (:

Re: Unable to turn on phone Sony Xperia Z3 compact

Have you tried holding down the volume up button and the power button at the same time for 15 seconds? This is is the equivalent of a battery pull on the phone. When done correctly the phone should vibrate three times. Then you can hold the power button and the phone should be able to boot. You may also want to try this plugged in to see if it helps. Good luck.
