why apps are consuming space

in playstore, if an app is of ,say, 50 mb, after downloading my mobile shows that it consumed 100 mb??why is it so?/it sjows 100 mb excliding data and cache??

Welcome to the forums. When you say your mobile show 100 MB consumed, do you mean looking at the app in Settings>Apps?

If so, you can look at the downloaded file as similar to a .zip file. When it's installed, the file is opened and gets larger.
