Why are all of my apps gone after I restarted my phone?

All of my apps are gone after I restarted my phone.

I restarted my phone because it was messing up, not turning off when I pressed the power button, when I went to turn it on, after it restarted I noticed that all my apps are gone, I tried to uninstall and install one app but that didn't work. How do I get all my apps to show back up since they are still installed

By "restarted" I assume you mean turned it off, then turned it on? Then turn it off, leave it off for a few minutes, then turn it on again, and look in the app drawer for your apps. They may have somehow gotten wiped off the homescreens, but they should still be in the app drawer, and you can drag them from the app drawer to the homescreens.
