Why are facebook messages showing up on my phone?

I'm getting facebook messages saying like "37 people liked your comment", I don't want these messages using storage space. How can I get facebook to stop sending email to my cell phone.?

Disable the Facebook app. If you don't want notifications, then change that in the face book settings
