Why are images not displaying on Facebook and Instagram via phone?

[AC Question]

I just switched to the new Samsung A5 and although working fine at first, none of the images on Facebook and Instagram are displaying. All I see are white boxes (or blurred out images on Instagram) and even when I click them, they remain white. I tried force stopping the apps, restarting my phone, refreshing the pages and yet nothing is working. It's been happening for 3 days now and sometimes it will display and then go back to white boxes. Is this a problem with my phone or is there something I can do to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to the App Manager, select Facebook, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Then open it again and log back in. Does the same thing happen?
