Why are manufacturers losing money on Android?

It isn't just that. It seems like whenever HTC put a device out, they feel the job is done. Compared to Samsung HTC does nothing in advertising. I do not watch a ton of network TV, but I cannot go an hour without a samsung commercial.

I really suspect - but can't prove - that financial mismanagement (not saying impropriety, so don't go there) is taking place in the hardware industry, just because of how new this whole arena is. I think the makers of Android devices could be smarter in their business planning and execution. Just my honest two cents.
