Why are movies taking device AND sd card storage??

I have an LG V10 with a 64g memory card installed. I was going on a trip with the kids and loaded 6 purchased movies from Google Play. I looked at storage and my "Apps" jumped from 5g to 16g and my SD storage was still relatively empty. So... I found the setting to load to SD in the GP Movies app. I changed the setting, removed the movies and reloaded them with SD clicked. My storage now shows space used on the SD card but STILL has taken a ton of space under "apps". What gives??

That screenshot shows that the Apps are back to taking up a little over 5 GB. Do you mean the Miscellaneous category?

Sorry, this is AFTER I load movies. It's taking space in BOTH locations.

How much Available Space in Internal Storage does it say in that first screenshot, before downloading the videos?

it's the same..... I can't believe I missed that! Soooo...... it's just showing under "Apps" for some odd reason but not actually taking any internal storage. Well that's confusing!

I agree. I'd just chalk it up as a bug. You could give Google and/or LG feedback about it.
