Why are my contacts duplicating on my S5?

some of the contacts on the s5 - it was also this way on the s3 - are duplicating and duplicated. at leat five of them appear 400 or even more times when i search for them. then i delete everything and after a while they re-appear. where are they coming from and how can i delete them for good?

Check your Google contacts on Google to see if they are there.. If so delete the duplicates and it will sync correctly
