Welcome to Android Central! Go to the Google Play Store and search for those specific apps. Do you see an Update button? Update the apps if you can. Preinstalled Google apps don't always notify you when there's an update available if you never updated them before. You have to update them manually the first time, after which they get onto your My Apps list in Google Play Store, which will then notify you of subsequent updates.
