Why are my photos coming out not sharp, almost like theres a beauty filter on them?

[Android Central Question]

I just got the Note 20 Ultra and the pictures aren't coming out sharp at all. I took some pictures of my dogs to test out the camera and they're all coming out smoothed out with no detail. I was hoping this camera was going to be better than my Pixel 3, which is still a good camera, and apparently a lot better than the Note. Unless I'm doing something wrong. I tried all the different camera settings I could find. Have a clue what could be causing this? Or is the camera on this phone truly just that bad?

I am having similar problems with focus and auto zooming. I have this problem at max res and or after reset to default.

Try moving back then zooming in, rather than moving up close and tell me if that works.

Or maybe you're zoomed in already. Try zooming out like in this picture then try the photo again. Please do let me know
