Why are my photos not appearing in the gallery

[Android Central Question]

All the photos that I take using my camera or things I screenshot are not appearing in my gallery, they are though appearing in my file manager. The only way I have been able to fix this problem is by rebooting my mobile, but I can't just keep rebooting it just to see a few photos. My phone was working fine yesterday. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Which phone?
Stock gallery?
You set permissions on in gallery?
You have your camera settings set to Internal storage or you have a sd card?
