why are photos missing in samsung galaxy s5?

On 1st January 2015, I took some photos and videos in my Samsung Galaxy S5. I went to view those photos and videos in my gallery. First few times, the photos and videos were there. After some time, I went to view the photos and videos again in my gallery. Suddenly the photos and videos I took on January 1st were missing but photos I took before January 1st 2015 were still there. I'm sure I didn't delete any of the photos. Is there something I can do about?

what did you do? what did you install? who touched/handled your phone?
are you using an SD card?

the gallery might not show the files but you can be certain that they are gone by going to app drawer > my files > device storage and then manually look for them. alternatively, you can also connect your phone to a computer and verify that they are indeed gone.

You may have already done this but restarting your phone helps refresh the background media service that links to your photos. You may want to try running an antivirus program on your phone (yes they make them).

I had called Google for a simple request n ended up finding out that a bunch of ppl had accessed my account! Photos..card numbers..alot of different things..I would suggest looking into this..call google
