Why are posts tagged with Sent From the My Nexus 7?

Why do people add Sent from my Nexus, 7 to their posts? Who cares where it was posted from? I find the additional information sentence. annoying.

This is standard for most any forum app. The app detects the name of your device, and includes it in the default signature. Most of us are just too lazy to change it.
