My LG Stylos 4 has an app called Quick memo which I use to draw pics and when I send them to my text messages so I can save them in my Gallery they get a date stamp of December 31, 1969. I've had this phone for a year now, and this is a recent development.

Well it's an app that comes with the LG stylo, hence the reason I bought the phone. But I noticed it also happens on some of my emails, mainly spam, connected to my gmail account.

Why do you have to send the memos as a text message in order to save them? Are you unable to save them directly using the memo app? Or is it unable to convert to a jpg?

I have noticed the same thing happening on several different devices over the past few years. It seems that the most logical explanation is there's a company or something... peeping in on our devices. It happened in 2021 after I was severely hacked for over 2 years. It was probably the first time I had the guts to touch my old phone. I was trying to transfer photos and videos from my iPhone to an air gapped laptop. I tried to keep it all private, but forget about the cellular connection. When I checked a couple hours later to verify the backup, everything was dated 19691231. Also several settings on my laptop and phone were changed, some photos, videos and documents were deleted and only a few things transferred. It was very stressful, invasive, scary and eye opening all at once. The laptop was never used again, every time I'd try to turn it on, it would just loop. I lost many important documents, videos, and photos of precious moments, things I'll never get back. Needless to say that was just a tiny part of a huge hack that completely ruined my life for many years. I still have PTSD from it all, so you can imagine how I felt recently when something similar happened on my Android. I connected to a friends Wi-Fi who only uses apple products. This time every app was dated 19691231 and so were many photos and videos. Also they have put something in my device so I can't transfer anything to my microSD card. I refuse to share everything through a cloud, so there's no backing it up at this point. Needless to say it brought up a lot of stress from the previous hack that happened in 2019, which was so much worse than things just being dated wrong. In my opinion it's a way to hide the person or companies tracks, that way you can't get any specific info on who or when they accessed your device. Simply put, there's no going back beyond that day to recover anything. I hope you find your answer and can get everything you need off your device. I recommend clearing cache on all apps, resetting app preferences, resetting bluetooth & Wi-Fi options and only using cellular data. There are many apps that can help you see if your apps have also been dated and there's also phone codes you can use to get more information. Best of luck, you're obviously concerned, which is understandable. Everyone knows they snoop and no one seems to mind, however when its this obvious, it makes you think...

19691231 > YY MM DD = 1969-12-31 OR 12/31/1969. The default date in Java is 1-1-1970, so off by one day.

This is nothing malicious in my point of view.
