Why are the icons so massive

I have a s7e and the icons are just massive. I've had this phone for a year but recently did a factory reset and update.

The s6 had an option to shrink the icons to a decently small size. Why was that taken away?

The option is still there (under Display settings). Are you sure you're not using Easy Mode on your homescreen?
