Why are there occassional blinkfeed ads on my lock screen? How do I turn this off?

Once in a while when I am at work I get ads on my lockscreen. I know the ads are from blinkfeed because when I swipe right onto the blinkfeed screen, the ad is usually right there.

How do I disable this behavior without changing my launcher? This is the sort of shenanigans that make limping companies die out. Homescreen ads as default behavior, are you kidding me?

What launcher are you using? If it is the default, I think it is fair to assume they are not coming from the launcher, but from some app that you have installed.

The trick is to figure out *which* app.

It's coming from News Republic; that's a default app on the HTC 10.
