Why are video downloads stopping when I exit the internet ?

I just got the galaxy s7 the other day. So I was going to download a couple videos from the internet mainly movie trailers. Now on my s5 I would minimize the internet app and go about my business while the videos downloaded in the background. But on my s7 when I go to minimize the internet app or put my phone in sleep mode whether it's the stock browser or chrome. My downloads always stop or fail unless I keep the browser open. So I'd like to know how I can fix this in the settings or something. The issue is happening with WiFi turned on and through 4g.

Is your power saver on? Turn it off while downloading or uploading or emailing large files. Samsung said there were so many complaints about the S6's battery that they tweaked the battery saver on the S7. So basically you can't minimize anything with the battery saver on and have it work.

Fix
Under settings>data usage
App usage
Click 'internt'
Scroll down and untick 'Restrict background data'
