Why aren't downloads starting in my Google play store?

Hello,
For probably a week now, I have been unable to download anything from the play store. It pops up with the blue bar like it is trying to start the download, but "downloading" never appears, nor does the % downloaded. Nothing else seems to be wrong, and the problem doesn't seem to be linked to anything I have downloaded recently.

I have tried resetting the phone, taking the battery out and restarting, clearing the play store cache, and restarting my data connection. Nothing has helped.

How can I fix this issue??

Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you try clearing the data on the play store app? Not just the cache.

Facing the same issue after performing a factory reset... Unable to get my previous apps because the downloads won't start... And if I stop the downloads I'll have to manually pick the apps and download them again...
