Why aren't my Google apps working after a factory reset?

After a routine factory reset, my HTC Desire 300 is having trouble with many of the Google apps. Google Search, Google+, Google Play Store, etc. all crash immediately after opening. To make matters worse, the Internet app that comes with the factory preset isn't working either, this makes getting new apps and updates impossible. I've tried clearing data and cache, pulling the battery and having another factory reset, but these problems continue. PLEASE HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! Any particular reason you did a factory reset? Was the phone acting up beforehand?

Are you having any difficulty signing in with Google during the Setup Wizard?

I'm more concerned about the "routine" part.....
