Pictures on Internal Memory not Showing in Gallery - Only in My Files

So My pictures that I have saved and moved into different folders etc in my gallery have all vanished. They are still on my phone in the My Files > Device Storage section (in their folders) but don't show up in the Gallery. Funny thing is, all the pictures saved to my SD Card show in the gallery. If I move pictures manually from Device Storage in My Files to the SD Card Storage in my files, they will show up in the gallery. I have tried everything - Media Scanner force stop, disable/enable, Clear Data and even a Factory Reset (After Back Up). And still, none of the pictures will show in gallery unless they are saved to the SD Card. So if I downloaded a pic from FB it won't show in Gallery (like it used to) but i Can find it in My Files > Device Storage > DCIM > Facebook. Oh and this across all media (music, videos, etc) But pictures are more fun. Please help anyone!

I've Samsung Galaxy note 3 and I've the same problem with not showing anything from device memory. From My file I've delete no media file and then restart my set. Now I can see some pics but no vedios, whats app and viber pics and vedios and also cannot see any songs from device memory to google play or media player.
Pls help me, what I should do to solve this problem.

Re: Why aren't my pictures oun my Internal Memory showing in the Gallery, only in my files?

I have the same problem. I use a samsung A3 and i can't listen to any music or to view my pictures. If i use my files i can find them there but if i'm using the applications for music or pictures there's nothing. Even for the ringtones the problem persits. I had this problem before but i managed to solve it but i don't know how. This thing ocured when i've unpluged my phone from the computer directly. I've tried to delet the .nomedia file and nothing. Thx a lot.

Ok i managed to fix this problem on my galaxy s5 running stock EE lollipop. All of my internal memory items stopped showing in gallery and the only way i could get them to show was to move the items to sd card but after a bit of reading and thinking i fixed it by going to>my files>phone memory then pressing the 3 dots on top right>settings>show hidden files>tthen go back to phone memory and delete the file called ".nomedia". Then i opened gallery and everything was showing up again. Hope this helps as i just signed up to pass on this info. Thanks for reading and good luck

Tje best answer ever.. Thank u man.. realy u are a guenias

Solution:
Check if you have a hidden file named .nomedia (double check also for uppercase name) on device memory (storage folder) and delete.

Go to Settings > Apps -> ALL -< Media Storage. Select Clear data + Clear defaults. Disable the App.

Reboot the device. Now enable again Settings > Apps -> ALL -< Media Storage. Wait a couple of minutes (so it should reindex files). I think all files should be now again in Gallery. Note: Do not try to run any rescan App, just follow the above steps.

It worked. i got my views back in gallery

The only solution I have found is to go into your pics that are missing, it is usually a data folder, and delete them all from that folder. then when you go back to look at them, they will be there. it happens to me every couple of weeks now, and this always fixes it for me.

I am facing the same issue with my Sony xperia M4 lollipop 5.0. I tried following the steps but couldn't find the .nomedia file in my device. Please help

1. There may be more than 1 .nomedia file. If your pictures are in DCIM/Camera, there could be one in DCIM and one in Camera. You'd have to delete them both.

2. If you copy media files to the phone, it doesn't trigger a media scan, so apps aren't aware that you copied them. Either restart the phone or run an app like media.Re.Scan to force a rescan.

I have the same problem with my LG Tribute. The camera's gallery won't show photos on the SD card. I can find them in a downloaded gallery app, but that's a lot less convenient than using the camera's gallery. Help?

Same goes for me, same LG phone. I delete the .nomedia file, but it didn't change a thing. I can get a photo to come onto the screen by continually pressing the gallery button, but when I take my hand away, the photo goes. I've been working on this for HOURS. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.
