Why aren't text and missed call notifications waking up the lock screen on my LG G3?

G3 Text and Missed Call Notifications do not Wake Up Lock Screen

Hello!

I just purchased a LG G3 (coming from a Note 3) and noticed that notifications do not wake up the lock screen like the Note did. Also, when I do receive a text, I have to swipe to unlock the screen and it does not give a preview of the text, only who sent it. Is this a limitation of the phone? For work, I need the preview on the lock screen...any insight or help would be greatly appreciated as I am not super tech savy

And now I am not receiving texts from my husbands S5, but receiving texts from my son's LG Optimus??? Any help???

Are you using the stock messaging app? I use textra and definitely get a preview of the text on my lock screen and it wakes it up for the amount of time you specify in settings.

I was using the stock messaging app... I went back to my carrier and exchanged back for the Note 3 as it also was not receiving texts or notifications even though it was checked to. Thank you for responding...I appreciate it
