Why can I only get some services on mobile data?

I can only get some services on mobile data

on mobile data i can get gmail & bbc news but cant google or fb or twitter
seems some services work and others dont
restrict background data is unchecked
using moto e 2/3g

Welcome to the forums. Perhaps the SIM card is bad? Maybe some changes need to be made to the APN settings? For either case, you carrier should be able to help you out.

Some apps can struggle when you have a bad signal or a very slow mobile connection. If you're using 2G most of the time they will time out and eventually display an error message.
