wifi issues

Wifi problems... I can't use it it's connected but I can't access internet or apps the require data. I have a galaxy s5 and my wifi is alset to on always but it connects then disconnects and when connected it won't let me use any apps or access the web. please help:eek:

Re: wifi issues

And who is your carrier? Most carriers have "smart WiFi" apps on the phone, I turn those off.

I'm also new to the S5, so this is the first I've dealt with the "different" android look. There used to be settings in power saving to turn WiFi off. Not sure of there is now, I don't use power saving. Do you have that turned on?

Re: wifi issues

Your wifi Access-Point maybe does not connect to Internet at all. Try another wifi AP or mobile data to verify this suspected wifi AP.

My wife's S5 has a similar problem, occurs at home at work and other places. I connect fine with my LGG3. Her phone used a ton of data last month. For some reason I think it had something to do with that update not long ago. Hope someone figures it out.

I suspect this is the best answer.

The WiFi router is not linked to the internet.

Re: wifi issues

Do you have access control set up on your router, where only certain MAC addresses can use the connection?

Re: wifi issues

My wife did a factory reset and so far last two days have been good.
Hopefully will stay good.

Re: wifi issues

Does the same for me. I can't get my GPS apps to work or other apps that require GPS location. This happens while I'm away from my home wi-fi that I can recall. (Sprint)
