Why can't I change my ringtone

Samsung J3, I have downloaded a ringtone but now want to change it back to a default one but it's not letting me.

Welcome to Android Central! Were you using an app like Zedge to download the custom tone? How are you trying to change it back -- using the Settings>Sounds​ menu?
