Why cant I change the notification sound on my phone?!?!?!

I have a Starmobile PlayMax running Android 6.0. I really want to change the notification sound but I cant find any menu that lets me. There is a really loud sound that plays when I have a notification and I really don't like it. Please assist me with this, I want to put a puppy monkey baby notification sound.

"Settings"
"Sound"
"Notification Sound"
