Cannot delete an app, not listed under device admin

Accidentally download an app called Bandwidth Meter. When i try to uninstall it, my phone displays cannot uninstall due to it being a device administrator. But that app is not listed under device administrator. I've downloaded an app called Hidden Device Admin Scanner app by Trend Micro after searching about this problem. But this app failed to find this app. However, MobileSecurity app from TrendSecurity is able to detect this app as potential unwanted app, but it does not remove the app only finds it. Is there a way/an app that will help me get rid of this malicious app??
Thank you!

Hello yongis, welcome to the forums! Which phone do you have? Did you download this app from the Play Store or any other source? You could try booting your phone in safe mode and repeat the device administrators / uninstall process again.

I am having the same problem with Bandwidth meter. I cant uninstall it, it is not listed in the device administrators, and with I scan it with trend mobile security, it tells me that is a device admin. I got a Hidden Devices Administrators Scanner and it did not detect it. What is there left to try?

Re: Cannot delete an app, not listed under device admin

Thanks for the suggestion. i have Motorola Droid Mini. I installed with apk... i know i already made a mistake there! I've tried booting my phone in safe mode, but i cannot uninstall this app, because the "uninstall" button is grayed out. This app is not listed under device administrator either, but it has device administrator privileges, therefore i cannot uninstall it in a traditional matter... Trent mobile security does not work, because like i said it only detects the app, but can not uninstall or delete this app from my phone

I'm posting this because of you! I was finally able to uninstall this app from my phone!!
I restarted my phone in safe mode.
Ran the Hidden Device Administrator Detector, and it was able to find Bandwidth Meter this time.
Then i unchecked the box next to Bandwidth Meter(i think it was still trying to crash my phone when i tried to do this)
Then under list of all downloaded apps, found bandwidth meter and i was able to hit "uninstall"
Hope this works for you!

Yong, it's surprising that Trend didn't have that way of removing malware on their site. AND they have no contact link - so I "took their survey" and gave them your method in the comments.

Great find. Thank you.
