Why can't I delete photos from my S4 that are on the cloud but not in my gallery?

I've put in a new sd card as the old one was corrupted. Photos have been saved to another device so I'm good there and are no longer in my gallery. However, my S4 won't let me delete photos that are still backed up on my phone (over 1,000) and show the Picaso logo. Please help. Many Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! If they're in the cloud and not locally saved, they shouldn't be taking up much space on the phone (it'd only be the thumbnails). If you don't want to see them at all on the phone, then try going to Settings>Accounts-Samsung, and unchecking Gallery or Picasa.
