Why can't I disable Instagram popup notifications on UNLOCKED screen?

SAMSUNG GALAXY M31
My Instagram has always been set to show the icon when a new message arrived, ,but not display content (on either locked or unlocked screen).

Lock Screen settings are fine, BUT three months ago, the content of a direct message always pops up ON UNLOCKED SCREEN ONLY , and I am unable to disable this in any way.

SO I can either disable both icon and pop ups, or bot show up. But I cannot only allow icons and disallow the content popups!

PLS HELP!

Thanks Jewal but I don't want to kill my notifications. i need the icon to show. I only need to stop the contents popping up each time I get a message :-(

Also, my problem is not with the locked screen, it is with the unlocked screen. I need to stop the messages that pop up on my unlocked screen.

AOD is Always On Display is that what your lock screen setup as ?

The app that's giving you pop up even unlock you have to long presss it then tap info>go to notification>notification catagories tap each one to turn pop off off

Yes, have AOD enabled.

but also disabled it and checked. Same problem

Have also long pressed the notification and tried to disable from there. it turns off either the entire notification (icon plus pop up)
or neither of the 2!

In AOD setting under notification is it set to icon only or icon and brief?

Ok so long press Instagram then tap info>notification tap> notification types you should be able to tap to use one of the 3 options or don't highlight them go at the bottom notification catagories and each menu there tap to get to the next page to make adjustments

unfortunately the "notification types" section as shown in your image above does not show up at all in my options
