Why can't I double tap to like on any app?

I have a galaxy s6, it won't let me double tap to like anything on any app, instagram, imgur, tumblr, none of them work. Any thoughts? It's been this way since I got it.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify what you're trying to do? You're trying to Like an item or post in those apps, as you would in Facebook? Most apps will have a Like or heart icon somewhere on the post that you just tap once.

"double tapping" on the screen to "like" a post will not work on any app, such as instagram, and imgur. I can click the "like" buttons, but the double tap will not work. I was wondering if there is something I can do to fix the issue.

On Instagram if I double tap a pic, it will "like" it. I'm using an edge plus btw

That's quite odd. Is your signal especially weak when you're attempting likes? Or, are you using a replacement launcher that reserves a double-tap gesture for something else?

Nope, signal is just fine. And I'm just using the official apps.

I'm not sure what to suggest next -- been on Instagram for ages and double-tap works with ease as intended. Instagram recommends uninstalling and reinstalling the app in the event that the feature isn't working, but that it's not working correctly for you across multiple apps is most curious. All I can think of would be to double-check your other apps and any related gesture settings to make sure something else isn't interfering with it.
