Why can't I download a compass app to my Galaxy S3?

Does my Galaxy S3 have a magnetic sensor so I can download a compass app?

Yes, it has. Try GPS Status & Toolbox. (Be aware that the compass gets uncalibrated any time the phone comes near any ferrous metal, so you have to calibrate it before using it - by rotating the phone 3 turns in each of the 3 axes. Using a 10 cent magnetic compass [or a free one from a cereal box] is easier and just as accurate. Or floating a magnetized needle on a slice of cork in a glass of water.)
