This happened to me as well. Check google play- settings- and see what your download settings are at. It might be on wifi only

Re: I can't download apps from Play store on brand new s6 edge

Go to Settings-Applications Manager and Clear Cache and Force Stop the Google Services Framework (DON'T DO THE CLEAR DATA) and then go to the Google Play Store App and do a Force Stop and Clear Data.

This will delete anything related to your Google Play Store, next time you open it it will ask you for the account if you have more than one and you need to adjust any settings you adjusted before. See what happens.

Just had the same problem. Found an app in my list of apps being automatically updated that said "waiting for network", i cancelled that update then the rest of the updates in que continued as normal. Now i can download apps again :)

Why is it every time I try to install an app I get an - error while retrieving information from server - message??

The bar keeps sliding across my screen. There is no download icon up top. It just keeps going and going. Never completes download

THANK YOU!!! The wifi issue solved *my* problem. I had tried clearing the cache, clearing the data and forcing a stop; it didn't work.

I found that rebooting the phone works for me. "Stuck" apps finish installing. A bit extreme I know
